Valentine’s Day fell on a weekday this year (Cupid must have lost a bet), so I know there are more than a few of you who will be celebrating with a romantic date this weekend. I think it’s as good a time as any to try something epic and show your honey you care by showering their taste buds with affection.
I love macarons and am always on a quest to discover unique and delicious flavors. A few weeks ago, I tried out this Chocolate Macaron with Salty Peanut Butter Filling concoction. I’m a fan of sweet and salty, so this recipe is definitely the way to my heart.
Macarons are tricky little buggers, but damn, are they ever good when you get them right. Never fear though because Hallmark deems V-Day one of two official days when it’s okay to give a gift where it’s the thought that counts. So, consider this your only chance until Christmas rolls around again.
My advice? Leave the egg whites out overnight, don’t whip the batter like madman, and keep some backup chocolate covered strawberries handy…just in case. Happy Valentine’s weekend!
